A 47 million dollar lawsuit alleging a conspiracy between Belleville police and a city nightclub has been withdrawn. The Intelligencer reports no reason for the withdrawal was given in court documents filed by the owner of Little Texas and the shortlived Atlantis Nightclub Charles St. George. The 2003 civil action claimed nine police officers conspired with another nightclub owner to threaten and intimidate staff and patrons at the competing bars in an effort to put the businesses under. None of the allegations were ever proven in court.
