Home builders aren’t as busy in Brighton this year as they probably want to be.
Chief Building Official Rick Jones says only 18 permits for the construction of new houses have been issued so far, compared to 55 at this time last year.
The municipality has approved 63 permits for building activity worth 5.3-million dollars, about eight-million less than after the first five months of 2008.
