It seems hundreds of people in Prince Edward County have no patience for a referendum on changing the makeup of County Council.
Yesterday, the Electors of Prince Edward County for Restructuring Wards made a formal appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board. A petition with over 600 names was also filed with the County clerk.
Organization representative Jim McPherson says Prince Edward Council has kicked the issue around for too long, and as it stands, there won’t be any change to Council’s compositon until 2015.
The group believes Council has too many members, with 16, and that it’s ward representation is not fair.
