A major jump in break-and-enters and motor vehicle collisions has caused Quinte West O-P-P to focus its officers in those two areas. Staff Sergeant Ken Salisbury says those areas will be monitored closely. Salisbury says previously the police would wait until the end of the year before checking statistics and making staff adjustments. The incidence of break-and-enters in Quinte West, particularly into outdoor sheds, jumped 127-percent this spring, and motor vehicle collision damage increased 68-percent.
