A 50 year old Belleville man is awaiting a bail hearing after an incident on Belleville’s West-Side last night.
City police say they were called to Bridge Street West after a cab driver reported a problem with a fare.
When they arrived, officers say they were confronted by the man… and assaulted while they tried to arrest him.
Details on the confrontation were not released.
Police also say the unidentified suspect was also in possession of illicit drugs.
