It seems certain Prince Edward County Council will reverse decisions putting minimum distance separation rules between farms and existing lots of record. And they may make life easier for farmers wanting to expand their operations as well.
However, last night, after an over 3 hour meeting, County Council delayed any decision on Minimum Distance Separation, in order to give Councillors time to study a new idea to strike a compromise. A final decision is expected in December.
People representing builders, realtors, farmers, and individual lot owners, all spoke against current distance regulations, saying they were devaluing land, and stopping farmers from expanding their business.
