Brighton Mayor Chris Herrington wants to speak to the local M-P and M-P-P about the municipality’s poor record in getting federal and provincial stimulus money.
Brighton was approved for only 12 per cent of the six-million dollars it requested over the past year, while other Northumberland-Quinte West communities, including Cobourg, had a mark of over 90 per cent.
Councillor Dave Cutler told council municipalities with higher tax rates have larger staff to prepare funding applications, and that could work to their advantage.
