It is three weeks and counting for the lockdown at Warkworth Institution.
Restrictions on regular programs and visits to the facility were put into affect after about 200 prisoners refused to return to their cells during the evening of July 21st.
Assistant Warden Anne Alexander says the investigation continues into what sparked the protest, which included fires being set in the recreation yard, the health care centre being broken into, and an inmate dying..
She says it is by far the longest lockdown at Warkworth in the 32 years she has been in administration at the prison, including the past five as assistant warden. The previous record was six.
