Hastings County has approved a new location for the planned Little Rascals child care at 610 Dundas Street East in Belleville.
During Thursday’s meeting, council received a report on the new selected location for the child care facility. Previously, Little Rascals had been approved for infrastructure and start-up funding to support the relocation of their business from 679 Dundas Street West to 250 Sidney Street in Belleville. After approval of the funding, it was determined that zoning permissions at the Sidney Street site didn’t allow for the operation of a child care facility and that a new location would be needed.
Since then, Little Rascals has secured a lease at 610 Dundas Street East, with renovations set to begin in November. The business is now seeking approval of the new site, in order to receive the originally planned start-up funding grant.
Council voted to approve the new location without debate.
