The City of Quinte West joins municipalities across Ontario in celebrating Local Government Week, Oct. 18-24, 2026.
Local Government Week raises awareness of the important role municipalities play in delivering essential services and shaping our communities. It also recognizes the dedication of municipal employees, elected officials and departments who work every day to support residents.
This year, Local Government Week coincides with the 2026 municipal election, providing an opportunity for residents to learn more about how local government impacts their daily lives and take part in the democratic process. Municipal decisions shape many aspects of our community, including roads, parks and emergency services. The city encourages all eligible voters to learn about the issues, make a plan to vote and take an active role in shaping the future of Quinte West.
As part of Local Government Week, the City of Quinte West and Quinte West Public Library will host a display at the Trenton Library featuring information about city services, local government, books and resources, and Quinte West-themed colouring pages for residents and families to enjoy. Information and resources about the municipal election will also be available, and the library’s computers are available for access to online voting.
Throughout Local Government Week and leading up to election day on Monday, Oct. 26, the City of Quinte West will keep you informed of important election information. To stay up to date:
