Belleville City Council will decide today (Tuesday) on a significant financial contribution toward a new housing development in the west end.
City staff are recommending a $450,000 grant for Aldersgate Homes Inc. which is now building a new apartment building behind an existing one in Aldersgate Village. The money would come from the city’s Community Improvement Plan program.
The new building, to be known as Epworth Place, will feature 84 apartments, including 46 affordable units with 28 being accessible.
The $28-million building is expected to be opened sometime next year.
