The Quinte Home Builders’ Association (QHBA) is bringing Quinte Careers in Construction (QCIC) to Loyalist College on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, offering students and the public an opportunity to explore the wide range of careers that contribute to building homes and communities across the Bay of Quinte region.
QCIC will bring together residential construction professionals, educators, workforce partners and young people to showcase career pathways across the construction industry, from skilled trades and technology to design, engineering, project management, planning and entrepreneurship.
During the day from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the event will be offered to registered students who will connect directly with QHBA Certified Member mentors through career pathway conversations and hands-on experiential learning activities designed to introduce them to the people, skills and opportunities behind the residential construction industry.
QCIC’s goal is to help students see the breadth of opportunities available in construction, have career pathway discussions, ask questions and learn directly from professionals working in the industry today.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. the event will be open to the public and will feature career pathway presentations from QHBA members, community and education partners, and a youth panel featuring individuals who have begun their own journeys into construction careers.
Hosted tours of Loyalist College’s Skills Centre will also take place and there are opportunities to meet industry experts.
Whether you are a student considering what comes next, a parent helping your child explore career options, or someone considering a career change, QCIC is a unique opportunity to meet the people
behind the businesses and organizations that help build our communities and learn more about where a career in construction can take you.
“Quinte Careers in Construction is a partnership event centered around creating connections and helping people see the many career opportunities that exist within our
industry,” says Ruth Estwick, QHBA CEO. “We want students, parents and people considering a new career to meet the people who build our communities, ask questions
and discover the many different pathways to building a career in residential construction. You can’t choose a career you don’t know exists. QCiC was created to
change that.”
“We are proud to deliver Quinte Careers in Construction alongside an exceptional group of industry, community, education and workforce partners,” says Sandi Ramsay, CEO of Centre for Workforce Development.
The event takes place in Gym 2 at Loyalist College.
