The Belleville Police Service’s Drugs and Intelligence Unit continued to be busy in the second quarter of this year.
A report to the Police Service Board shows the unit conducted 6 investigations, arrested 27 people and laid 141 charges.
Forty of those charges involved weapons offenses of various types.
Officers seized 6 handguns, 1 short rifle, a silencer, extended magazines, and ammunition.
The street value of drugs seized in the second quarter was $549,000, mostly in the form of fentanyl.
In all of 2025 $394,000 worth of drugs were seized.
