Belleville council is expected to sign off on a significant grant for a local industry’s relocation
and expansion plans.
On Monday, council will be asked to grant $202,115 to BCS Automation and Bowland Company
(landlord) to support a $10.7 million move and construction of a new manufacturing plant at 435 Station
Street.
The money will come from the city’s Employment Lands Community Improvement Plan.
BCS Automation manufactures automation systems for the marine and defence industries and is now operating
from a site on Dundas Street East.
The new plant will be over 37,000 square feet in size. Thirty-two current employees will be retained
and 15 new full-time positions are expected to be created.
