A cyclist has died following a collision in Whitby on Friday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police say the cyclist was travelling north on Coronation Road when he collided with a parked trailer at Lyndebrook Road around 12:30 p.m.
Officers arrived on scene and located the 68-year-old cyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The male was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation.
The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
