A traffic stop in Belleville’s west end has led to drug charges.
Officers conducted the traffic stop at around 7:19 p.m. on Tuesday.
While speaking with the driver and passengers, officers noticed an open can of alcohol in the back seat.
Upon further investigation, officers also located drug paraphernalia as well as quantities of controlled substances.
As a result of the investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:
A 56-year-old Arden man was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Disobeying order of court
- Possess unmarked cigarettes
- Unnecessary slow driving
- Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
A 52-year-old Ridgetown woman was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Fail to comply with a probation order
- Outstanding warrants executed
Sally Lawson, a 46-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in September:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
