The July 2026 building report is in for Prince Edward County and it indicates a significant drop in construction compared to July of 2025.
In July, a total of 46 permits were issued with a combined value of $6,551,825. In the previous July, the numbers were much higher with 69 permits issued and a total value of $12,049,014. Six of July’s permits represented new housing units, while in July 2026 11 of the permits issued were for new residential units.
So far this year, the county has issued 305 permits worth a combined total of $82,089,761. That is slightly down from this time last year, where 362 permits had been issued with a value of $71,749,215.
