A Deseronto man has been charged after an OPP investigation.
On Friday, just after 1pm, officers from the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, made an arrest on Dundas Street in Napanee. Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed on a residence on Green Street in Deseronto. As a result of the arrest and warrant execution, police found 10 grams of suspected fentanyl and just under $700 in Canadian currency. Officers also seized a cell phone, scales, and materials associated with drug trafficking.
William Labelle, a 45-year-old from Deseronto was charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee.
