A community meeting is being held this week to learn more about a project connecting energy and agriculture.
It is called the Elmbrook Agrivoltaics Project, which could generate 19 megawatts of solar energy, while leaving the farm land for active sheep grazing and potential future crop production.
Nineteen megawatts provides enough energy to power thousands of homes.
The site is along Highway 49 in Prince Edward County near Bethesda Road, across from Lake Ontario.
The open house is slated for Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mohawk Community Centre on York Road.
