Charges have been laid after a good samaritan was assaulted Thursday night.
Belleville police say a male and female were involved in a dispute in the city’s east end when the male attempted to physically prevent the female from leaving.
Another individual intervened and the female left.
The male then punched and threatened the individual who stepped in.
A 42-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was located, arrested and charged with:
· Assault x2
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
· Fail to comply with probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
