A Peterborough facility manufacturing aerospace and industrial systems is relocating to Poland.
Woodward Inc. is closing its plant which produces specialized electromechancial systems for aviation, and is transitioning production to Krakow, Poland in 2027.
About 165 employees will be impacted.
Colorado-based Woodward acquired the Peterborough location in July 2025 from French aerospace company Safran but now says the site is not suited to support future growth.
The facility is scheduled to close on Aug. 31, 2027.
Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal issued a statement calling the announcement a surprise and that he is deeply disappointed by the decision.
