The Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary Program is looking for dedicated volunteers.
An information session is being held in Quinte West on Wednesday, July 15 for anyone interested in learning more about the opportunity.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary is a group of dedicated volunteers who work with OPP provincial constables to ensure safety and well-being for the province of Ontario.
Auxiliary members have no police authority but support OPP provincial constables.
Their duties may include patrols with regular members and assisting with community events, seat belt clinics, R.I.D.E initiatives, safety displays, presentations, victim assistance and ceremonial duties.
The Auxiliary is made up of people from diverse backgrounds and occupations, including civilians.
The meeting will offer information on the role of an Auxiliary member and how to apply.
OPP representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the program.
