Belleville’s Josh Thomas captured the silver medal in the U20 high jump at the Canadian National Championships in Ottawa.
Thomas, who was recently named the Male High School Athlete of the Year by the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame, cleared 1.98 metres in a field of 15 competitors.
He will be heading to the University of Guelph this fall.
Three of his Quinte Legion Lynx teammates also competed in top-eight finishes in their respective events at the Nationals.
Isla Bibby placed fourth in the pole vault, Sydney Johnson was sixth in the discus, and Aidan Crawford took eighth place in javelin.
