Mayor Neil Ellis and Accessibility Advisory Committee Chair Barbara Enright-Miller handed out the awards to his year’s winners of the City of Belleville’s Accessibility Excellence Awards Wednesday at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
The awards aim to recognize and highlight local businesses, groups, organizations and individuals who go out of their way to provide and advocate for accessibility provisions in the city.
This year’s honourees are:
- Canadian Tire – Employment
- Discover Belleville – Built Environment
- Harold McQuigge – Built Environment/Education
- Kingston Online Services KOS – Customer Service
- Quinte Arts Council – Customer Service/Information & Communication
- Supporting Health Care Workers Fight vs. Covid 19 Assistive Medical Devices Program – Customer Service
- Westlake Home Security – Customer Services/Education
Nominations ran from March to April this year and reflected the following areas: Built Environment, Customer Service, Education, Employment, Information and Communication, and Transportation.

These awards are an important opportunity to recognize and celebrate the individuals and organizations creating positive change for residents of all abilities.”
