Central Hastings OPP officers have laid charges in an impaired driving investigation, after finding a driver asleep at the wheel.
On Monday, just after 5:30pm, officers on patrol found a pickup truck stopped in a right hand turn lane on Highway 7, in the municipality of Marmora and Lake. The driver was found asleep in the driver’s seat, with the door open.
The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the Central Hastings Detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, 41 year old Angelo Bove of Toronto was charged with driving under the influence and blood alcohol over 80.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. Additionally, their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for 7 days.
