The April building report has been released for Prince Edward County.
This year in April, 55 building permits were issued with a combined value of $24,143,672. Fourteen permits were for residential developments, including nine single-detached homes.
Overall, compared to April of last year, the total number of permits issued dropped slightly but the value of construction was much higher, due to the approval of the construction of St. Gregory Catholic School on County Road 4. Last April saw 58 permits issued, nine being residential, with a combined value of $12,812,881.
So far in 2026, 137 permits have been issued with a combined value of $38,001,561, compared to this time in 2025 when 177 permits were issued with a combined value of $36,232,615.
