Tourism numbers are trending the right way according to the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board.
Executive Director Dug Stevenson told Brighton council this week that the area encompassing Belleville, Quinte West, Brighton, Greater Napanee, and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte saw its average overnight occupancy rate last year climb to 62.2 per cent.
That was the highest overnight occupancy rate in eastern Ontario, including Kingston.
Overnight tourism spending was estimated to be up as well, at $470 million in 2025.
The figures become even more impressive when the fact that statistics from hot spot Prince Edward
County are not included.

applies to the entire region).
