Quinte West OPP have laid charges after an impaired-driving investigation.
On Saturday, after an accident, police suspected one motorist may have been impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing.
As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old Steven Weese of Quinte West was charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol over 80, failure to report accident, and failure to remain.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on June 11, 2026. His vehicle was impounded for seven days, and licence suspended for 90 days.
