Loyalist College is taking steps to reduce financial barriers to entry for students entering the college this fall.
This year, Loyalist is introducing two significant enhancements designed to help students access funding sooner and reduce financial uncertainty earlier in the application process. The college will award $275,000 in donor-supported bursaries to eligible students during the spring and summer, allowing recipients to learn about available funding months in advance of their studies and move forward with greater confidence as they prepare to start college.
Loyalist is also increasing its fall entrance bursary program to a record $300,000 in need-based funding. This includes 300 bursaries valued at $1,000 each, representing the highest total funding amount, the highest individual bursary value and the greatest number of entrance bursaries awarded in the college’s history.
In addition to entrance bursaries, Loyalist offers a broad range of funding opportunities designed to meet diverse needs, including supports for Indigenous students, varsity athletes and specific fields of study, such as the Schulich Builders Scholarship for programs in the skilled trades.
The college will be hosting an information session on May 13 for people interested in attending who want to explore their financial options. Staff from financial aid, recruitment, advancement, career services, athletics, and Indigenous services will be available to help answer questions.
