The nomination period for mayoral, council and school trustee candidates for this fall’s Ontario municipal elections began on Friday.
The City of Belleville released its first list of registered candidates.
There are two mayoral candidates, including current Mayor Neil Ellis who is seeking his fourth term as mayor.
Meantime, local comedian Kyle Woolven, also known as “Kyle for Mayor”, has officially registered to run for mayor of Belleville.
Two candidates have registered to run for councillor in Ward 1 – Belleville.
Barbara Enright-Miller is seeking re-election, while Maury Flunder has registered to run for a seat at the horseshoe.
