UPDATE: Highway 401 has re-opened to traffic
Highway 401 has been closed this morning between Belleville and Kingston.
Two separate closures are in effect, with the first starting in Kingston at Montreal Street until Palace Road in Napanee, and the second starting at Centre Street in Napanee until Highway 62 in Belleville.
Traffic has been halted in both directions, due to hydro work.
Drivers are advised to expect a lengthy closure, and plan for an alternate route.
