On April 12, 2026 at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers responded to Last Duel Park, where one person was located with life-threatening injuries.
The individual was transported to a trauma centre and later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no signs of a broader threat.
Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation.
Residents of the area can expect to see an increased police presence as officers continue the investigation.
This investigation is being conducted by Lanark County OPP under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Assistance is being provided by the Emergency Response Team, Forensic Identification Services and the Regional Support Team.
