A 23-year-old driver from Oshawa travelling 173 km/h on Highway 401 eastbound in the Municipality of Brighton.
Ontario Provincial Police say the driver was charged with the following Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform – Excessive Speed and received the following:
- 30-day driver’s license suspension
- 14-day vehicle impoundment
- A future court date
Police are reminding the public that excessive speed is not just dangerous, it’s a form of stunt driving under Ontario law.
