The City of Belleville is inviting residents and stakeholders to learn more about and provide feedback on the draft Employment Lands Community Improvement Plan (CIP), following its recommendation by the Finance Committee on March 25.
The draft plan is designed to support economic growth and investment across Belleville’s employment lands by introducing financial incentives that encourage development, redevelopment and job creation. Community Improvement Plans are a key tool used by municipalities to stimulate targeted growth by offering grants, rebates and other financial supports to offset eligible project costs.
Building on the City’s broader CIP framework, the Employment Lands CIP aims to strengthen Belleville’s economy by encouraging new industrial and commercial development, supporting the reuse of underutilized properties and ensuring lands are ready to attract and retain businesses.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend an upcoming public meeting to review the draft plan and provide feedback:
WHAT: Employment Lands Community Improvement Plan Public Meeting
WHEN: Monday, April 27 at 4 p.m.
WHERE: Council Chamber, 4th Floor City Hall (169 Front St.)
Feedback received through the public meeting will help inform the final version of the plan before it is brought forward for Council consideration.
