High water levels across the Quinte region have prompted local conservation authorities to take immediate action.
A heavy, wet snowpack, combined with persistent rainfall over the past few weeks, has led to several official alerts.
Lower Trent Conservation and Quinte Conservation have both issued Flood Outlook Statements, with Lower Trent specifically declaring a Flood Watch for the Trent River.
Additionally, the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has issued a Water Safety Statement to keep the public informed of potential risks.
Waterways are currently fast-moving and unpredictable and residents are urged to stay away from shorelines and exercise extreme caution near the water.
