Lennox and Addington OPP have charged a driver with several offences after a traffic accident on Monday.
Just after 9 p.m, officers responded to a call regarding a serious multi-vehicle collision on County Road 2 in Loyalist Township. After investigating, the at-fault driver was arrested. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preston Hockey, a 27-year-old from Loyalist Township, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
- Dangerous operation
- Breach of recognizance
- Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
- Novice driver – BAC above zero
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle was impounded.
