A male youth is facing a litany of charges after an incident at Centennial Secondary School.
On Thursday, police responded to the west-end school after reports of a person inside the building with a gun. Officers found the youth nearby with a replica firearm and several knives. The youth was taken into custody without incident.
The police continued their investigation and heard that the youth had shown others he had a gun, which was later found to be a replica, and made threats while concealing it under his sweater.
As a result of the investigation, a 15 year old Belleville youth whose name is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm while committing an offence, and forcible confinement.
He was held for a bail hearing.
