A Centre Hastings woman faces impaired driving charges after a report of a vehicle stuck in the snow.
Central Hastings OPP received the report around 9:30 p.m on Saturday.
The report stated that the vehicle was stuck in a snowbank on Johnston Rd in Thomasburg.
Police attended the scene and say they found numerous open alcohol containers in the vehicle.
The driver provided a sample of her breath into an approved alcohol screening device at the roadside.
Subsequently, she was arrested and transported to the Central Hastings Detachment for further testing.
Fifty-year-old Tanya Vanderwater of Centre Hastings was charged with:
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 23, 2026. Additionally, her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
