Since the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame’s inception in 1987, 123 individuals and seven teams have been inducted and are celebrated in the Dr. R.L. Vaughan Atrium at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre.
Your nomination could help shine the spotlight on our next Hall of Famer.
Anyone in the community can nominate someone they believe deserves recognition: friends, teammates, coaches, family members, and fans are all encouraged to take part in the process.
According to BSHoF Committee Chair, Ian Press, public engagement is crucial. “From world-class athletes and championship teams to the builders and volunteers who worked behind the scenes, Belleville has an incredible sports history,” says Press. “But no one can be inducted unless someone in the community nominates them. People sometimes assume the well-known names are already on the list, but that isn’t always true. Community nominations are how those legacies are discovered and celebrated.”
The Belleville Sports Hall of Fame accepts nominations in the categories of athletes, builders and teams.
Those who were born or lived in the Belleville area and have brought sporting honour to the community on the regional, national or international stage may be eligible.
