With the ongoing middle east conflict between Isreal, the United States, and Iran, disrupting world oil supply chains, gas prices have skyrocketed.
Gas prices in Belleville hit $1.59 per litre on Sunday morning, rising close to 10 cents overnight.
Belleville isn’t the only local community feeling the pinch. Prices around Trenton have also risen to $1.59. Prices in Brighton, Picton, and Wellington are also hovering around the same rate.
Fuel prices remain high, but lower than the region’s average in Tyendinaga Territory. Fuel prices there are hovering at around $1.39 per litre.
GasBuddy.com, a tracker for gas prices across North America says that gas prices across the province are up on average 37 cents compared to last month’s averages and 17 cents over last week.
