A 12-year-old female has been charged in connection with a threat made to a Belleville School.
Belleville Police responded to a public elementary school around 9:30 a.m. Thursday after receiving information that a threat to commit violence at the school had been posted on social media.
As a result of investigation, a 12-year-old female whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with uttering threats.
She was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.
Police believe that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
