The City of Belleville is seeking public input on the West Belleville (Loyalist) Secondary Plan.
The plan looks to provide a long-term planning framework guiding future growth and development in the city’s west end.
It will establish policies to guide land use, transportation, infrastructure, parks and natural heritage as development occurs over time.
The plan calls for a mix of housing types, employment opportunities, commercial services and public spaces.
Current concepts consider the potential for several thousand new residential units alongside supporting amenities and infrastructure.
A statutory public meeting will be held before the Planning Advisory Committee on Tuesday, April 7, at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall, where the draft Secondary Plan and related Official Plan Amendment will be presented, and members of the public will have the opportunity to provide comments.
