It appears March 11 hasn’t been a particularly rainy day in the Quinte region over the years.
On Wednesday, according to readings taken at CFB Trenton, the area received 17.4 mm of rain.
While that is a relatively modest soaking it was more than enough to set a new rainfall record for the date.
The previous rain record for a March 11 was 9.9 mm set in 1973.
