Five local cheerleaders from Pegasus Cheer have earned invitations to compete at the Cheer Challenge Cup Nationals, taking place March 27-29, 2026, in Blue Mountain, Ontario.
The athletes qualified after strong performances at Cheer Challenge Canada events earlier this season. Invitations are awarded to athletes who place in the top two of their division at one-of-three qualifying competitions.
The following Pegasus Cheer athletes received invitations to compete:
-
Olivia Bolton – U16 Level 3, ages 12 to 16 – Extreme Chill
-
Olivia Moore – U8 Level 1, ages 5 to 8 – Beast of the East
-
Kaelynn Whyte – U12 Level 1, ages 8 to 12 – Beast of the East
-
Aaralynn Ford – U12 Level 2, ages 8 to 12 – Beast of the East
-
Grace Freeland – Open Level 1, ages 16+ – Beast of the East
This marks the first year Cheer Challenge Canada has extended invitations to specialty divisions such as Individual (Indy) and Duo athletes, making it a unique opportunity for athletes competing outside traditional team divisions.
“Our coaching team is very proud of our Indys. Earning a bid to this event is more than an invitation to these skilled athletes. It’s proof that the countless hours of training and their unwavering belief in themselves have turned their potential into achievement,” says Liz Yntema, owner and CEO of Zone Athletics, home of Pegasus Cheer.
The Cheer Challenge Cup Nationals brings together Novice, Prep, All Star, and Specialty athletes from across Ontario, giving competitors the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of judges and spectators at one of the province’s top cheerleading events.
