Belleville Fire & Rescue rescued a dog who was clinging to the side of the ice in the Moira River at Plainfield Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded around 10:52 a.m.
Deputy Fire Chief Mark Shannon tells Quinte News that the dog was successfully rescued and returned to its owner to take to the veterinary clinic to be checked over.
Belleville Fire is reminding residents and visitors of the fast-flowing water conditions during spring thaw.
They say you need to stay back from fast-moving water and keep pets on a leash near the ice and water.
