Construction activity was down considerably in Prince Edward County last month compared to February of last year.
According to the county’s building department, just 16 building permits worth just over $1.5 million were issued.
In February of 2025, 35 permits were issued with a construction value of just over $8.1 million.
The big difference was that permits were issued for seven new single-family homes last year in February while none were issued for new homes last month.
For the year so far, construction value is also lower than it was in January and February last year, from $10.8 million to $5.1 million.
