The Trenton Golden Hawks won and the Wellington Dukes lost to open the first round of the OJHL playoffs Friday.
The G Hawks skated past the Lindsay Muskies 7 to 2 at home, out shooting them 43 to 20.
Jamie Darlison and Lucas Digiantommaso each scored a pair for Trenton.
Game 2 is tonight at 7:30 in Lindsay.
Meanwhile the Dukes were on the road and were beaten 6 to 3 by the Panthers. Wellington was outshot 49 to 23.
Zachary Carrier scored twice for the Dukes.
Game 2 is Sunday night at 7:30 in Wellington.
In Jr. C playoff action the Tod Division semifinals get underway Saturday.
Napanee will be in Frankford at 7 o’clock while Picton travels to Lakefield for an 8 o’clock game.
In the Northern Premier Hockey League playoffs a Sentinel Cup semifinal series featuring the Deseronto Bulldogs and Tweed Oil Kings starts Saturday.
