Brighton Council has sent a request to once again offer in-person voting in municipal elections back to staff.
Council heard a request at its meeting on Monday to allow in-person and mail-in voting for this fall’s election, along with the online method that was solely used in 2022.
Phyllis Lanham told council many seniors have issues using computers and suggested there are security issues with online voting.
Council sent the request to staff who will provide a report in the near future.
While there was only online voting last election, the municipality provided voter assistance centres for those without access to the internet or who required assistance.
That is expected again this fall.
