“We’ve had lots of consultations with the ministry, we’ve been working really hard to lobby, and get our community partners engaged in this process. I think at one level maybe we’re a little surprised it came this year as opposed to next year, but overall I think we’re just extremely happy and pleased that the government recognizes that colleges needed some additional funding.”
“It’ll be based on our base funding is my understanding. As we’ve talked some of the colleges, including Loyalist has been getting some top up funding from a sustainability perspective. This will be net of the base grant we were getting prior to top.”
“Which Loyalist does get part of that money and it is really truly a recognition that there are institutions and there are places in this province, where the cost of delivery is significantly higher, because we don’t have the economy’s of scale for example, which means they recognize that accessibility in all places of this province are critical.”
