The community is celebrating another big win by the United Way Hastings Prince Edward.
At a wrap up event on Thursday morning, members announced a record breaking fundraising amount.
Executive Director Brandi Hodge.
“We’re really excited, it’s a record breaking year. Last year we raised $2.250 (million) and this year we raised $2.256. We’re really excited about that and we’re really proud of this community for responding in the way they did, in an economy that we’re in.“
Victor and Jodi Cooper are this years Co-Chairs.
“VICTOR: We’re super excited for the results, it’s a record breaking year. Half way through the campaign we realized what a rough year it’s been for people financially.”
“JODI: Community means so much to us, so it was really important when the United Way team asked us if we would join and really set the stage for this to be a group project.”
United Way Hastings & Prince Edward is dedicated to bringing people and resources together to build a strong, healthy, and safe community for everyone.
Their mission centers on improving lives and building community by addressing local social issues through strategic investment, collaboration, and advocacy.
One in three people in the Quinte region benefit from a United Way member agency.
